Optenet Websecure™ shortlisted for the Best Content Security category of SC Awards 2010 Europe

February 10, 2010 – Optenet, a pioneer and global leader of enabling SaaS offerings and delivering “on-premise” security solutions, today announced that its enterprise solution Optenet WebSecure™ has been chosen as a finalist for the Best Content Security category of SC Awards 2010 Europe.

Entering its third decade, the SC Awards Europe are universally recognised as one of the most coveted and prestigious awards for the European information security industry.  The shortlist and final decisions are made by a panel of revered industry judges from the highest levels of the information security profession.  The Best Content Security category is open to products primarily designed to counter attacks on web-based content in the enterprise, including that residing on endpoints and mobile devices and in transit.

Francisco Martin Abreu, Optenet’s President and CEO, said, “We are delighted to be chosen as a finalist for such an influential award, and the shortlist has confirmed that our WebSecure enterprise solution has fulfilled the criteria of answering specific market needs, providing business and technical benefits, as well as providing unique offerings to our customers that make us stand out from our competitions.”

Optenet WebSecure™ enables enterprises to protect users from Web 2.0 threats, using dynamic, real-time content analysis techniques. The solution is based on a 100% subscription model with no hidden costs, no third party licenses or maintenance.

It also allows administrators to use a single console to define and execute unlimited policies, applicable on a global scale.  The solution is built with powerful tools that include a Multi-content Inspection and Dynamic Analysis System (Optenet MIDAS™) for real-time management of inappropriate content and a Global Intelligence Acquisition Network for Threats (Optenet GIANT™) for collective intelligence about the latest risks and threats on the Internet.  An integrated Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engine, CCOTTA™, analyses streamed data across packets in real-time and redirects them to the appropriate filtering services.  No external DPI hardware is required.

All award winners will be announced at the Awards dinner on 27th April, 2010.
